A science graduate with experience tutoring maths and science at GCSE
I am passionate about teaching and supporting the whole student; building their confidence and understanding of the subject, as well as helping them develop skills for exam success. I am a science graduate with a BSc degree in Medical Genetics and have tutored a number of students over the past 5 years in maths and science GCSE and A-level Chemistry.
I am passionate about science and maths education and have tutored across Berkshire over the past 5 years, primarily at GCSE level but also up to A-level in Chemistry. I tailor all sessions to the abilities and needs of the individual, identifying weaknesses and common misunderstandings and dealing with the underlying issues. I believe that 1:1 support can be incredibly beneficial for capable students who may just need a confidence boost or a brush up on specific sticking points.
I plan my lessons around the individual students, utilising diagnostic questioning to gauge understanding and misconceptions. This then allows me to tailor a lesson which works through those misconceptions while also revising areas in which the student is stronger.
Science GCSE: AQA, OCR Maths GCSE: Edexcel Alevel: OCR, AQA I have reviewed and have access to other specifications, concepts tend to be uniform across exams boards for sciences and maths
