Oya A

I am currently studying Chemistry at a Russel Group University in London. I did Chemistry and Biology at A-Level and achieved an A* in both subjects. I will be happy to tutor all 3 sciences at GCSE level, and Chemistry and Biology at A-Level.

My tutoring experience has so far been with A-Level students. As someone who has previously completed A-Levels, I am familiar with the heavy workload and content it entails. My goal is to ensure I focus on where the student needs specific help, and not bombard them heavily on topics they are clear with as this takes time away from what they truly need. For example, for each student I make a mistake book. In here I will write what their main mistakes are for the whole course which I have seen from their assessment. A student being able to clearly understand and identify their mistakes means they will be less likely to do it again.

My lessons focus on strengthening the students weakest points. I work according to the spec. For each topic, I will first do an assessment, and then build my lessons around areas within which the student made mistakes on. I also do regular assessments to ensure the student is able to transfer the knowledge I give them effectively into their exam papers.

I am most familiar with the OCR exam board, but have tutored students on the AQA exam board as well.

All the GCSE students I have tutored have achieved an A*-B grade. The two A-Level students I have tutored have both achieved A*-A grades in the subjects I have tutored them in. REFERENCES AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.
