Medical student available to tutor GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Maths as well as A level Biology students, and to help students get into Medicine
Hi all! I'm Muhammad, a Medical student at university and have completed 4 years of my Medical degree. I intercalated (took a year out of Medicine) to study Psychology between years 3 and 4. I really enjoy teaching, and have done several sessions at University, from smaller group revision over many weeks, to teaching several large groups on one topic. I also tutored one student over several months to prepare her for her Biology A Level during lockdown. I like to make the sessions interactive, using lots of questions, as active learning is the best way to improve understanding. Outside of University and work, I spend time with friends and family, watch movies, read, and play video games. Get in contact with me to book a first (paid-for) trial lesson, and I hope you like the lesson and book further sessions so we can work together to improve your skills.
September-October 2020 Tutoring, Helped a student gain confidence and knowledge in Biology A Level, online in response to the pandemic. Leicester Insight: Peer tutoring at the University of Leicester Medical School. Taught the younger years a topic in our dissection room, using the prosection materials. University of Leicester Medical School Revision Society (LMSRS): Led small group revision sessions with a partner to the younger years, going through questions and giving tips to learning, and exam technique when answering questions.
I am flexible and adapt my lesson plans to the needs of the student. For example: A Level students close to their exams: -Use the exam board specification as a guide to learning, and as a convenient structure to the lessons -Closer to exams use past exam papers to ask questions, learning exam techniques, common questions, and preparation for the exams.
I am fairly familiar with exam boards. I did complete my A Levels some 5-6 years ago now, but I recall I did AQA, and Edexcel, OCR are others.
The student I tutored for A level Biology improved massively over our sessions, and was in the process of hearing back from her Medicine applications. I received good feedback from university students.
