4th year chemistry student studying at the University of Southampton
I am in my 4th year studying towards a Masters in Chemistry, which I am on track to achieve a first in. I have just returned from a 6-month placement at the University of Sydney in Australia. I have enjoyed furthering my chemistry knowledge throughout my degree and my passion for chemistry has grown over the past four years. During my third year research project, my hard work led to the results from this work being published in a research paper (Beilstein J. Nanotechnol. 2019, 10, 1952). Helping students achieve their goals and improve their confidence is something that I thoroughly enjoy, as it is extremely rewarding. I have experienced a range of teaching styles in lectures, workshops and tutorials during my degree, which has helped me to develop my tutoring skill set over time. I am extremely confident that I can help students achieve the top grades they need with the experience and knowledge that my degree has equipped me with and my ability to form strong relationships with students. I can help students with challenging course content, exam technique and provide useful feedback as I am familiar with mark schemes. I have a strong background in mathematics as it has underpinned many of my modules at university, thus allowing me to help anyone struggling with the maths element of chemistry courses.
I have tutored family friends since finishing my A levels and whilst at university I have tutored a few students for GCSE maths.
I approach each topic methodically with a range of different resources. I tailor my lessons to the individual's needs and learning style. I provide extra resources and questions for students to complete between tutoring sessions for topics that students are struggling with.
