My name is William. I am a medical student that tutors students for GCSE Maths, English and Biology as well as KS2 KS2 and KS3 Maths and English
I have been tutoring students since secondary school. I make sure the students feel challenged while tailoring my lessons to prepare him or her for exams. I transfer skills I find useful for my own studies to the students, helping them make study schedules and checklists with applications like Notion. I am current and up to date with the exam syllabus and criteria for GSCE Maths, English and Biology, and also the requirements for Eleven Plus exam, as well as Key Stages 1 and 2.
I am very familiar with the requirements for GSCE Maths, English and Biology, and have experience tutoring some of my peers . Over the summer, I also taught the equivalent of Eleven Plus exam syllabus to Rohingya refugees in Malaysia. Furthermore, I frequently help my mum tutor primary school students.
In general, I will first gauge the students understanding of the subject and its core concepts, then adjust my teaching style accordingly. Based on the course structure, I will come up with lesson plans. In between lesson objectives, I will often come up with a fun quiz to encourage active recall, and allow the students to get a short break. Furthermore, I will look out for any mistakes the students make, in order come up with questions to help curb them.
I have very good knowledge of the requirements for GCSE Maths, Biology and English for the major exam boards - AQA Edexcel and OCR and will always make sure I famiiarise myself with requirements for all exam boards before I start tutoring a student. I am also familiar with the requirements for KS1, KS2 and KS3, and have done extra reading to further strengthen my understanding of the syllabi.
For GSCE maths, English and Biology, most of the students I tutored had a substantial improvement in their grade. While the Rohingya refugees had improvements in all sections, they improved especially in the English and Verbal Reasoning sections.
