fully qualified science teacher specializing in New Spec 9-1 GCSE science
I am a fully qualified Science Teacher specializing in teaching GCSE separate Science or Double award (combined Science). I have an outstanding teacher status and have 7 years of teaching experience in outstanding secondary school.
I have a masters in Chemical Engineering from the University of Leeds. I have been a school teacher since 2014. In my several years of teaching experience I have taught students from many different backgrounds, abilities, and learning styles and I have a proven track record of success. My job as a tutor is to activate students so they become independent learners. I do this by helping them develop set of skills and specific scientific vocabulary so they are not dependent on their tutor to solve problems for them but instead try, fail and persevere and become excellent problem solvers. For me, every child is unique and my success comes from developing a passion for science and helping them discover the hidden scientist within them. As a tutor I understood much earlier on that every child has a different starting point and my job is to develop on that through consistency, guidance and boosting their confidence.
I always start my lesson by recalling the previous material covered, either in the last lesson or from material covered several weeks ago. I do this for a number of reasons: 1) The new exams test student learning acquired over 3 years of teaching. Naturally as human being we are forgetful creatures. So it is very import to recall lagged learning. I have established this as a consistent approach to my teaching. 2) students able to recall previous material boost their confidence and develop further interest. 3) recalling help them retain information for much longer and hard wires the information in their brains. Next I teach them the main content using visual tools such as videos, demos, hooks to make the learning memorable. Lastly, we apply the freshly learned knowledge to challenging situation and applications such as past paper exams question. I also guide them how much time students should be spending on a particular question in exam, how to decode that particular questions and emphasize the important to keywords to include to gain full marks. Moreover, homework is given so the student engage with it independently over the week. This gives students boost in their confidence.
I have taught AQA, Edexcel and OCR.
I have a proven track record of success. On average my previous students have achieved a grade between 6-9, depending on they put in the hard work required and parents are onboard. Here are some reviews from my previous students: *Ibrar: Mr Kazmi is an amazing teacher. I love science now! *Saliha's Mum: My daughter was in for a D for her Gcse science. I was recommended Mr Kazmi by many people. I hired him 3 months prior to her exams. It was worth every penny! Since I hired Mr Kazmi I could see instant results and transformation in my daughter's confidence. She ended up with a Grade B and now studying for A-levels, thanks to his hardwork and passion for science. *Danial: Mr Kazmi go above and beyond to ensure I fully understand the topic before we can move on to the next topic. Although he meant to see me for only an hour per lesson but he would always spend longer than an hour to ensure I fully understand. *Zoya: I used to hate science as I was let down by many teachers in school and privately but thanks to Mr Kazmi I developed a very good understanding of science.
