Hi! I’m Meg, I teach Secondary Science here in the UK. I’m also an AQA examiner. I have taught over 1000 students GCSE science during my teaching career, and enjoy seeing progress in their academic abilities. Finally, I obtained a Distinction in my Post Graduate Certificate of Science Education, an Upper 2:1 in my degree, 4 A-levels A* - C including Psychology, Biology and Chemistry, and all 13 GCSEs A* - B. I look forward to supporting you towards those top grades!!

I am an experienced Qualified Science teacher, most of my time is spent teaching GCSE AQA Chemistry, Biology and Physics. I also have experience teaching the GCSE WJEC Welsh Exam Board. I have experience teaching many students over online platforms, with students (and parents) choosing to continue with me over both year 10 and year 11. My most recent students have seen significant turnarounds in grade from averaging 3’s to gaining strong passes and some even getting 8’s!! Finally, I have done tuition in Italy over a 3 month period, and so have experience teaching and tutoring those with English as a second language.

Each of my private tuition lessons consists of four key aspects: - initial assessment; to ascertain your current understanding and highlight misconceptions - content delivery; covering the material, breaking it down into easy to remember bite sized chunks - modelling of exam technique; working through exam questions modelling how to construct a perfect answer - application; support as you apply this information to exam questions yourself There will be Homework, in the form of a bridging activity. The opportunity to go away, utilise the session by practicing independently. We will then review at the start of the next session. I understand that you are juggling many priorities, therefore the next session will not depend on your completing the bridging activity. It’s optional but highly encouraged.

I have worked largely with AQA delivering the curriculum. I am an AQA examiner for GCSE. I have also taught WJEC (Wales) and GCSE Science.

My current tuition, all 3 students have made progress of 1 grade boundary in 2 sessions. All of my students have gone on to pass GCSE Science as a minimum, with some making significant progress in a short period of time.
