Maths Tutor currently at second year of University. Maths Tutor for KS3 and GCSE
My teaching style includes understanding the student’s curriculum and helping them understand the fundamentals of maths and offering general maths support. I would also identify the student’s weaker areas in order to overcome them as well as introducing exam style questions to help them prepare for their exams.
I have provided tutoring in person to GCSE students while studying at sixth form and more recently have been tutoring a student online since April 2020.
During the first lesson I would understand the students experience with studying Maths, what they feel their weak areas are or what they think they need my help with the most. I would also understand their curriculum if they’re studying at school and the teaching style as well as the exam board they will be using, so that I can structure my teaching in a way that will seem familiar to them. I would focus my lessons on a certain topic that the student may be struggling with, starting with basic questions before introducing more exam style questions. I would also assess the student on each topic before moving on to the next topic and occasionally I would assess the student using past exam papers to identify further weak areas.
