Hi, my name is Robin. I have 8 years experience teaching Maths in Schools and have been tutoring online and in person for over 2 years. I have worked with students aiming for a whole range of grades from those seeking grades 4 and 5, up to those aiming for grades 7 and above. I love creating a tailored experience for my students and helping them understand the wider application of Maths, which helps deepen their understanding of the subject.
I have over 2 years experience working with students at KS3 and KS4 level, both in person and online. I work with students on a 121 basis and in small groups. Each lesson is tailored specifically towards the needs of the students, I have access to preset questions and combine this with creating my own to check understanding, deepen knowledge and challenge students.
The structure of my lessons follows: Starter - this covers a range of topics and helps me gauge student understanding of different areas of Maths and makes sure students re-visit topics to keep them fresh in their mind. Main lesson - covers the main topic of the lesson, through questioning and observing student answers I can dictate the pace of the lesson to suit each student. Plenary - to finish a lesson I include a range of questions from the main topic from easy to challenging to assess understanding and check if any areas need to be covered in the future Homework - I can provide homework if desired
I am experienced with GCSE exam boards OCR, Edexcel and AQA.
• Last summer an online student passed her re-sit GCSE by over 20 marks. • Working with a small group of students to help them with the higher Maths paper and all of them getting a grade 7 or above. • Helping students at a local school improve their grades from a grade 2 mock result to a grade 4 pass.
