I am an experienced Maths and Computer Science/IT tutor with a strong track record of helping students achieve exam success, and thorough knowledge of the Python, JavaScript and OCR Exam Reference Language programming languages. I also have 12 years of prior experience working in the IT industry. I believe in a calm, patient, and positive approach to tutoring. I tailor my sessions to suit each student's unique learning style, ensuring they not only understand the material but also gain the confidence to tackle any exam question. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as they work towards mastering the subject.
With over 5 years' experience tutoring GCSE Maths at both higher and foundation tiers (across all major exam boards), 2 years of tutoring A/AS Level Maths and 2 years of tutoring Computer Science GCSE (OCR exam board), I am well-equipped to guide your child through every aspect of their exam preparation. I can also tutor BTEC IT, BTEC Mathematics in Context and BTEC Mathematics for Engineering. Additionally, I am a parent with a child and a stepchild in secondary school - I help them with Maths learning and/or homework on a very regular basis, keeping me well-versed in the latest mathematical methods taught in UK schools. This ensures that my tutoring approach is always aligned with current curriculum standards.
I carry out an assessment in the first lesson and set homework. In the run-up to exams, I provide plenty of practice with exam-style questions so that students go into their exams feeling confident and prepared.
I am familiar with all major exam boards and tiers for Maths GCSE, and with the OCR and CIE exam boards for Computer Science GCSE.
My students improve by an average of 3 grades, for example, transforming a mock/predicted grade of 2 into an actual grade 5, or transforming a mock/ predicted grade of 5 into a final grade 8.

“Natalie G has been game-changing for my 16-year-old in maths & computer science. Jack learnt so much & Natalie has given him confidence, explaining how to solve complex questions in an easy-to-understand way. She's taken an interest in each paper he's sat & Jack has enjoyed his lessons with her. ”
“Natalie is an amazing teacher and super professional! My daughter was really struggling with her GCSE maths, but after just a few lessons with Nat, she’s already catching up and feeling much more confident for her mock exam. ”
