5th Year Medical Student keen on tutoring up to GCSE Maths and Science.
As a highly accomplished tutor, I'm passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals. With 10 A*s, 5 As, and 1 B at GCSE, and an A*, A, A, and B at A Level, I have a proven track record of academic excellence. Currently in my fifth year of medical studies at Imperial College London, I have a strong understanding of science and a knack for problem-solving. My degree requires excellent communication skills, which I use to connect with students and help them learn in ways that suit their individual styles. I'm equally skilled at tutoring mathematics, having achieved an A* in GCSE maths in Year 9 and an A* in GCSE Statistics. I enjoy both learning and teaching maths, and I'm adept at identifying and addressing gaps in my students' understanding. With my guidance, students can overcome obstacles and achieve higher grades in maths. As an enthusiastic and approachable tutor, I'm committed to delivering engaging and effective lessons. I take pride in preparing thoroughly and tailoring each session to meet the needs of my students.
With over 100 hours of tutoring experience, I've honed my skills as an effective and engaging educator. My journey began with private 1-1 tutoring for GCSE students, where I helped several students achieve their desired grades. I then took on a role teaching around 10 students at a tuition center, gaining valuable experience in group instruction and curriculum planning. Currently, I continue to tutor a few hours weekly online, using the latest technology to connect with my students and deliver dynamic, personalized lessons. Through my diverse teaching experiences, I've learned to tailor my approach to the needs of each student, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment. I'm passionate about helping students achieve their full potential, and I'm committed to making learning a rewarding and enjoyable experience for all.
I believe that effective lesson planning is key to helping students achieve their academic goals. In my first lesson with a new student, I typically begin by working through a past paper together, to assess their strengths and identify areas where they may need additional support. From there, I develop a customized curriculum that addresses the student's unique needs. In subsequent lessons, we dive deeper into specific topics, using worksheets and other resources to reinforce key concepts. I draw on a variety of teaching techniques to keep students engaged and motivated, including past questions, diagramming, and even asking the student to teach the topic to me, to test their understanding. As each student has a different way of learning, I'm careful to adapt my approach to suit their individual needs. Whether they learn best through visual aids, interactive exercises, or other techniques, I'm committed to finding the right approach to help them succeed.
I take pride in the success of my former students, many of whom have gone on to pursue exciting careers in fields such as medicine, dentistry, and engineering. One student is set to begin studying Medicine at Queen Mary University of London this September, while another is currently pursuing a degree in dentistry. Additionally, a former student is now studying engineering at a King's College London.
