I tutor KS1 KS2 KS3 and GCSE Maths Science, History, English and Religious Studies, and have over 4 years tutoring experience, as well as working in schools assisting teachers
I tutor students who may require extra aid in both History and English. I work with students' strengths and find which areas in particular that they struggle with so we can work on it together. I give them as much help as they need whilst also giving them the independence they'll need, too. If they struggle with something more so than something else, we can make that a priority during the lessons. If there are any questions they want to ask, they are more than welcome to, no matter if they feel like they're 'stupid' questions. There are never stupid questions when it comes to tutoring. I have worked voluntary in secondary schools in both English and History mostly, sometimes helping out in other humanities. I've done this for a few months a year with a range of ages (between 11 and 16). I have some experience volunteering teaching in primary schools, ages mostly between 7 and 11. I teach them a variety of subjects. However, most of my experiences come from personal one to one tutoring sessions. For history I've studied the following time periods: Medicine from Medieval to Modern, Elizabethan Era, the New World, Nazi Germany, the Cold War, the Plains Indians and Westward Expansions. In Religious Studies, I've studied Christianity, Sikhism and Buddhism.
I'll ensure I learn about students personally, so I'm able to work with their learning style and make things easy for them.
For the initial lesson, I like to do some sort of assessment, so I understand where the student's working at. I have a few different types of structures for lessons, which are planned ahead of time and to cater towards the student specifically.
