Hello! I am Zara I have just completed my degree, and I have just fully qualified as a secondary school English teacher. My teaching style is based on truly understanding texts from all perspectives to help gain a comprehensive understanding of what you are reading. Normally, this would involve the use of detailed research into the context around when the text was written, critical views of the text, in-depth analysis of key quotes, and thoughtful use of literary techniques and what they mean. Within sessions, multiple techniques can be explored including essay structure as well as time management skills. I also believe it is vital to make sure the information that is learnt can be retained via the use of revision tools as the more you go over a piece of information the more likely you are to remember it!
I have been tutoring with TutorSpot for over three years now and truly think the platform has helped me to give extremely helpful lessons to students. Throughout my time tutoring, I have helped students go up one to two grades from what they previously had. All of my clients have found my efforts to go above and beyond what they have expected and I am happy to say that everyone who I have tutored has had an overwhelmingly positive experience.
Lessons are structured around students weaknesses to help actively improve those areas. We will work through the syllabus together and homework can be set to help gain an idea of improvements. Also, assessments that have been marked in class and need improving can be looked at together.
