Hi! Nice to meet you. I can't wait to help you smash that exam, help you overcome a problem area, or help make you feel more confident!
Hi! I am a third-year student studying Spanish and Criminology at University currently working towards a first-degree qualification. I undertook both GCSEs and IB and fully understand how stressful and daunting exams can be. Through my own personal experience, I found starting revision early to make notes that covered the whole syllabus highlighted areas where I felt uncertain or lacked confidence. From there, you can then revisit, revise and complete past-paper questions on the specific area leading to you ultimately gaining confidence, so when you entering the exam hall you feel confident there is nothing that can be thrown at you that you won't know how to answer or at least have a go at! As your tutor, I would love to help you however I can; whether it be to help you to achieve the grades you desire or if you would like to increase your confidence on certain topics. I appreciate that everyone learns differently; some of us are aural learners, some visual, and some us audiovisual as we learn best from both! Thus, my teaching style is adaptable to the learning methods that best suit you: together, we will ensure you are completely confident in the topic before moving on. I firmly believe that after studying a topic, if you feel could confidently teach the topic to someone else, that's when you know you have completely understood it.
I have tutoring for a few months now. I work on a 1-to-1 basis with my students and each session is specifically crafted to each student taking into consideration how they learn best, what motivates them, what they aim to get out of each session, and what they would like to work on.
In our first lesson, we will have a small assessment for me to identify how you work, your knowledge and see your strengths and weaknesses. This way we have a basis for understanding and means that I as a tutor won't teach you things you already know! Then each week we will work on a topic related to what you feel you would like to improve. This will be done through lesson plans which I will confirm with you at the end of each week, what we are doing the following week and if there is anything you would like to cover. This is the most important aspect of my teaching style....Sessions are led by you! Want to do a specific topic in maths one week? Have a piece of coursework you're stuck on? Just got a test back and don't understand where you went wrong? No problem - bring it to the lesson! With advance notice to allow adequate preparation work, we can go through anything you like in our sessions. Working together is how you improve, and I am here to help you ace that exam or pass that test with flying colours! Or even just to feel more confident in your given subject!
