Hello, I am a final year student currently studying Biology at University. I love animals, so when I have spare time, you would find me riding my horse or walking the dog!
My true passion will always be Biology, and I can talk to you about Biology all day! Apart from Biology, I have achieved Physics and Maths A-level as well as Chemistry in AS level.
I have been tutoring since I was in Sixth form, I organised Maths and Science clubs at school to help any younger year students with anything that they struggle with. I have always enjoyed tutoring as it gives me a sense of achievement seeing students that I have helped getting more and more confident and starting to enjoy studying the subject that they never thought they would like! In my first 2 years of University I continued to tutor students that I have helped when I was at school, I mainly tutored GCSE Sciences and Maths, as well as A-level Biology, the students that I helped all achieved what they wanted or above. In my placement year, I worked at 2 schools as a Science Specific Teaching Assistant. During that time, I have learnt to differentiate for lower attainment students, I also worked with SEN students and carried out small group Science interventions, as well as A-level revision lessons. One of my biggest achievements during that year was that a student who was in my small group intervention got the highest mark in one of his Biology test in his set.
For each session, I would always start off with a little quiz of a certain topic to see where we need to improve on, we then will focus on the learning objectives made up according to the start-up quiz
The two schools that I worked at in my placement year both used AQA for their GCSE Sciences and Maths, but have tutored OCR A-level Biology and Edexcel Maths.
One of my GCSE students achieved 8s and above for all her GCSE Sciences and Maths. An A-level student who had to retake her Biology exam achieved her target grade after tutoring with me, and got into her first choice of University.
