I am a well-qualified teacher with almost ten years of experience working in state and private schools in the UK. I have an excellent track record both in academic success and increasing confidence in my students. I am professional, enthusiastic and communicative. I have a very good understanding of the examination system. My lessons are engaging, interactive and carefully planned. I have proven experience with a range of special educational needs and working with students at the highest academic level.
As well as teaching in UK schools, I have been tutoring since 2011. As learning has significantly transitioned online, I have ensured I am still maintaining the highest standards.
Good lesson planning is like an iceberg - very little is seen in the lesson! However, each lesson is meticulously planned. I prefer a more structured lesson, but will confidently adjust the lesson if this is necessary. My first lesson usually includes a form of interactive and engaging assessment so I can identify the learning opportunities. There is no 'typical' lesson, but it will usually include a warm-up, a review of previous learning and feedback from any homework, then the main focus for the lesson, followed by a review of learning. Homework is arranged on a student by student basis. I certainly recommend it to make the most of the learning opportunity.
I have considerable experience with UK examination boards from my years of teaching. I have prepared students for GCSE and A-Level examinations with OCR, AQA, Edexcel and Eduqas/WJEC. This informs my teaching and ensures that planning for the student is targeted correctly. I can support pupils preparing for the 11+ in CEM and GL format, as well as students sitting independent entrance examinations.
Celebrating achievement is a highly personal matter. I have sent students off to Oxbridge with A and A* grades, and in general, the examination results of my students have been of a very high standard. However, I also place great value on a student's personal progress and have celebrated success in many forms.

“Rebecca was my tutor for a month leading up to my GCSEs, she was enthusiastic, friendly and experienced. She made sure we went through the parts of english that i was less confident with in the short amount of time we had. I would really recommend her to any students who are looking for a tutor.”
