Outgoing, caring and positive tutor studying French and Spanish at UCL
I am a hardworking, honest individual with good timekeeping skills and am a keen tutor always willing to learn as much from my students as they will from me. I am friendly, helpful and polite and try to keep a good sense of humour at all times. I am outgoing, practical and motivated and can produce a high level of work. I have very good communication skills whilst being able to adapt to different social groups and ages. Tutoring and education have always been an integral part of my work experience and I have found that when students have a good rapport with their teachers/tutors they are able to excel and reach their full potential. This is what I try to achieve with my classes; I am not only here to provide information but I also like to create a safe space for my students to ask me anything they so wish. Education and social environments are vital to the wellbeing and the future of students and I am passionate about taking part in this development.
I am currently tutoring a 24 year old French man who needs help with his English. Although it is not strictly tutoring, when I worked for an afterschool club for two years, more often than not I had to help the students with homework and general progression of work. Ages ranged from 5-11 so I am more than happy to work with anyone within and around that age group. I often tutor my little sister too who will shortly begin her GCSE's.
I begin my tutoring classes with getting to know my students. For me, this means understanding their likes and dislikes of the subject, their difficulties and their strengths and what they would like to gain out of our lessons. If there is an exam that they need to prepare for, I will search up the syllabus and exam board and become accustomed to this, applying the necessary tools and information in the classes. I like to work both aurally and with pen and paper with my students encouraging them to take in as much of the subject as they can and enjoying it as much as possible, giving homework (where relevant and as necessary) to my students. As mentioned in my bio, I really want to create a safe and enjoyable environment for the students to excel and grow in both their subjects and personally.
