Cheery University student ready to help you reach academic goals
I am a really patient and enthusiastic undergraduate student, with extensive skills in essay writing, reading and creative subjects. I specialise in English literature, Religious Studies (this includes Philosophy and Ethics) as well as Art and Design.
My experience ranges from helping younger learners read and write, to exam preparation. I can tutor students from P1 to S6, or Year 1 to A-levels. During A-levels I participated in a peer-mentoring programme in which I taught phonetic reading. I understand that every child is different. As such, I have the ability to teach in high-energy interactive lessons, or more analytical, methodical ways. I am confident with both English and Scottish curriculums and ask to be informed of the students exam board. This allows me to tailor my lessons for their success.
For me, the student's needs come first and as such I plan my lessons on a case by case basis. My methods are very adaptable and you can be sure the student will be getting personalised lessons made exclusively for them. In our first session we will discuss the topics you want to focus on, at what level and methods of teaching that you particularly respond to. For younger students (primary and below), I will use the first class to get a better understanding of how to tutor them. I aim to send a plan at least 24 hours before each lesson, just so I can respond to any feedback or changes you would like me to make. In addition to this, I aim to send you a summary of our class after each lesson. For parents, I feel this just allows you to keep record of your Child's progress.
