Fun and engaging tutor with over six years teaching experience
Each class is tailored to the needs of the student. In lessons I use combine fun interaction with challenging tasks, to make the lesson enjoyable and the learning impactful. I have taught students from all around the world, from the age of <Phone Number Redacted> in English, and from 3- 12 years old in Maths of all levels. Whilst living in Dubai I taught children from royal and diplomatic families, and in London I have homeschooled students, and prepared them for 11+, GCSE and IELTS exams.
I have over 6 years tutoring experience in both London and Dubai: KS1, KS2, 11+, 13+ KS3, GCSE, IELTS and English as a foreign language. I can also teach Mathematics up to 11+ entrance exams.
In a typical lesson we would usually start with quick feedback from previous homework if applicable- then an introduction to the topic for that lesson via a short presentation (this could be a reading or a short video); then an interactive discussion and questions to ensure understanding; and finally a task which is done individually. Of course this may be divided up into shorter segments if they're being tutored in both English and Maths or both literature and language; or it could be deeply focused on one specific area if needed. I do set homework, and discuss with parents how long they feel is reasonable for their child alongside homework set by schools which differs.
Very familiar with 11+, IELTS, British curriculum SATS and GCSEs.
Excellent success with getting students into top schools for 11+ such as Francis Holland, as well as meeting GCSE exam targets. I also homeschooled 2 children for 10 months, who were very behind, and through this they were able to catch up with their peers and were granted access to their chosen school.
