I currently have an offer to study Medicine at the University of Cambridge, with a great academic record so far. I achieved 3A*s at A-level (Biology Chemistry Maths), and scored in the top 1% in the BMAT (admissions test to study Medicine).

I previously volunteered as an A-level tutor for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, and I personally find that walking through past papers provides the most benefit, as this allows me to identify weaker topics that we can then go through during the lesson. I find that teaching is also very rewarding. During my previous tutoring experiences, I noticed that my students were becoming more precise when answering questions and also more confident when discussing difficult topics, which I believe will extend to them becoming increasingly well-spoken and confident as a person.

I know that every student is different, so I will start with discussing preferences and aims for these lessons e.g grade you are aiming for, topics you find the hardest. From there, I will tailor each lesson specifically to each student so that I can provide them with the most benefit by going through weaker areas.

Having been through many exams, I recognize that the exam technique for answering questions is difficult (especially for Biology), and so I hope to teach many of the tips and tricks that I've gathered to score highly in my GCSE and A-level studies.
