Helpful, committed and friendly tutor for KS1, KS2, KS3 English and Maths, as well as GCSE English Literature. Committed to guiding you to reach your goals
I’m really passionate about English literature and have always excelled in it, achieving an A* in my exams. This dedication has given me opportunities to work with magazines and contribute to an anthology, experiences that have deepened my love for the subject even further. I want my tutees to both enjoy and excel in English because knowledge and articulation are skills that stay with you for life. I’m a good tutor because I take the time to adapt to each individual’s needs, listen carefully, and provide the right support to help them succeed. I’ve also developed a love for maths and performed well, achieving a B. Thanks to teachers who gave me the right approach, I now perform confidently in maths. I want to make my students confident too, to prove to them that they are capable, and help them excel. I’ve realized that maths intimidates many students, and I believe it’s important to change that by making learning more accessible and less daunting.
I make sure to take the time to understand how each student learns best, knowing that everyone absorbs information differently and not always through traditional methods. I often use real-world examples and practical applications to make lessons more relevant and engaging. By tailoring my approach to suit their individual learning style, I help students connect with the material more effectively and build confidence in their abilities.
I usually start by preparing a lesson plan tailored to the student’s needs, based on what I learn about their strengths and areas for improvement. In the first lesson, I do a quick assessment to understand their current level and how they learn best. This helps me structure future lessons effectively. I also set homework to reinforce what we’ve covered, giving students a chance to practice and build confidence between sessions.
