Secondary Geography Teacher tutoring GCSE, A Level and KS3 Geography and History
I graduated from the University of York in 2020 with a BSc in Economics, Environment and Ecology. This has given me broad interests across climate change, geopolitics and ecology. I completed a subject knowledge enhancement course in 2020 before starting my training year as a geography teacher. I now teach in a comprehensive secondary school in Bradford, teaching a range of abilities and needs from year 7 through to year 13. I love teaching and look forward to tutoring!
Most of my experience has been in schools. I have delivered lessons to students with a range of different needs and ability levels. Nonetheless, I consistently succeed with improving results. Through tutoring I have supported an A level student, a GCSE student and KS3 students attain their targets and build confidence!
Geography encompasses many different skills. My lessons will always draw on at least 2 of these skills to prepare students for exams. Geography is also great fun and my lessons reflect the dynamic nature of the geography curriculum. I plan with the student's needs and abilities in mind.
I am most familiar with AQA and Edexel but have completed a subject knowledge course that covers all exams boards.
My students look forward to my lessons. I put emphasis of having an awareness about the world and this has improved geography attainment across my classes. I provide students with constructive and effective feedback, providing proactive, reflective lessons to improve specific skills and areas of knowledge.
