Hi! I am Ainhoa and I am from the north of Spain. I am a qualified teacher since 2016 after studying a degree in Education in Spain. I also have the QTS which qualifies me to teach in the UK. I currently live in England and the reason I moved here is because I wanted to learn English properly to be able to go back to Spain an teach English. 4 years later I am still here as I have discovered that I really enjoy teaching Spanish.
I currently work in a Secondary school in Shrewsbury preparing students for their GCSE and A level Spanish exams.I have been there for almost 2 years. I also teach Spanish in an after school club for kids from the age of 4 to the age of 11. Apart from working in a Secondary school and in an after school club, I also do private lessons. I have been a tutor for around 3 years and I have taught primary school kids, adults who were beginners and students who where in year 10, 11, 12 or 13 who needed help with their GCSE and A level exams.
I am very flexible and I adapt to what each student wants/ needs. If I prepare a student for an exam I focus on the exam content and I create activities and games based on the exam. If the lessons are for kids, I would use games as a learning tool. I like to ask for their interests during the first lesson so I can use them for my planing. About my lessons with adults, it depends on their level. So far my experience has been with beginners and I have always created a Power Point with the content that we will use in the website. In terms of homework, I always send the content we have done in the lesson and a document with new vocabulary or grammar to be ahead of the next lesson. Of course, it is totally up to the student if they want homework or not.
I am currently working in a Secondary School preparing students for their GCSE and A level exams. I also have experience teaching the "Cervantes" curriculum for beginners.
As I work in a Secondary School, I can see the progress easily as I see my students in a regular basis, most of them I have had them for two years before they take the exam.
