I am an empathetic and enthusiastic tutor with very good communication and listening skills. I like to get alongside my students and encourage them, affirming their strengths, and helping them to reach their full potential.

I have experience tutoring children from KS2 to KS4, including children for whom English is a second language. I'm currently supporting both home educated children and children in mainstream school. I have also worked as a volunteer youth worker and have experience in working with children of all ages and abilities.

I initially assess my students to find out about their learning requirements before building lessons based around their specific needs. Each lesson has a focus which could be a grammar point, reading skill, creative writing, analysis etc. The focus of the lesson is reinforced through studying example responses, joint and individual practice, culminating in a chance for the student to produce their own response. I usually use Google docs to share material and collaborate on written work.

I am currently supporting students studying AQA GCSE and Cambridge iGCSE.

My current students have grown in confidence since working with me and have benefited from my support and encouragement.
