I am passionate about learning and guide pupils to find the beauty and wonder in all aspects on the school curriculum. The key to success during any learning journey, for me, is to ensure it is meaningful, memorable and manageable. I look forward to working with young people, and helping them to carve out their own personal path to achieving their goals.
I have been tutoring since I completed my teacher training in June. I have experience teaching pupils ranging from reception to Year 6 in all Primary subjects. I also have experience teaching up to GCSE level in Maths.
The first session will usually be a general assessment in the form of a game, such as a reading comprehension board game, or a 'Maths Mystery'. I then use this to guide my decision on the areas to target in subsequent lesson. I do set homework from time to time but I try and design it to be fun and creative. A recent example of this would be when I asked a Year 3 pupil working on angles to draw a picture using as many right angles as possible, for me to count up next week!
