I am a South West based English Tutor with a focus to inspire your child, nurture a passion for English and build up their confidence in the subject. I hold a first class degree in English Literature from the University of Exeter and am currently doing my Masters and PhD at drama school, training to be a theatre director.

I have plenty of experience tutoring a variety of ages from 3yrs to 20yrs. I have 2 years tutoring experience, mentoring fellow undergrads in lower years whilst at Exeter. I have also spent 3 months in Italy as an au pair, teaching English language to 4 children below the age of 10. I also have experience teaching younger children aged 3-7 in theatre classes, involving acting, singing and dancing for Theatre Train Exeter

I tailor my tutoring specific to each child, their areas of weakness and strengths and any upcoming exams and assessments. I tend to start with a small, relaxed assessment to best gauge their level as well as encouraging open and honest conversation with the student to also hear what works best for them. I make lesson plans for every session, tailor each lesson and teaching methods to the way the student learns best and encourage a small amount of work outside sessions to also complete to consolidate learning.

I am familiar with most english GCSE and A-Level Exam Boards. I also have experience with 11+ entry examinations to grammar schools and independent selective schools. I am also happy to tutor and am familiar with Scottish exam boards.
