My name is Saskia, I’m a Psychology and Counselling graduate from London who is patient, passionate, and committed to promoting positive learning. KS3, GCSE and A level English Language and Literature, GCSE Combined Science, GCSE Biology. Rates can be a bit flexible if needed.
My core intentions for all sessions are to promote confidence in students, enabling a positive perspective towards academia whilst creating self-assurance in difficult learning situations. I place high significance on structure and organisation and fulfilling student session objectives whilst frequently consolidating previously learnt content with consistent revision. I have experience helping those with special educational needs and so I am very patient and understanding, and pride myself on making people feel safe and comfortable.
I have tutored up to GCSE level and pride myself on being a tolerant, committed, and knowledgeable tutor who is fully invested in the student getting the most out of the sessions that they can.
I will always prepare a lesson plan which I will go through with the student at the start of the session, so that they know what to expect and what to work towards. The sessions always begin with establishing learning objectives and always end with assessing the extent to which they have been met. I place emphasis on regularly checking in on how they are feeling towards each topic in order to track strengths and weakness and to make sure we are going at a pace which is comfortable for the student. This is why homework is classed as session and student dependent as opposed to a strict requirement.
