London based university graduate experienced in tutoring up to GCSE level English and Maths and GCSE and A Level History
I am a History Graduate from the University of Warwick who has experience teaching both primary and secondary school students in English and Maths. As I have tutored students sitting their GCSEs and took the GCSE exams myself just over 5 years ago, I am very familiar with exam style questions and how to answer them according to the mark scheme. I am also confident in tutoring students of lower age groups.
I have given tuition in English and Maths at a tuition centre for over 2 years and have given English tuition for 8 months in Seoul, South Korea.
In my first lesson I would like to see some recent work such as tests or homeworks so that together with the student we can highlight the areas that need the most attention. Following that I work with the student going through the process of how to approach difficult questions and which method is best used in specific situations. I do set homework if I feel that the student would benefit from additional practice.
Having taken GCSEs not too long ago, and having worked with students that have taken their GCSEs more recently, I am confident in knowing the curriculum, style of questions, and how to answer them in line with the mark scheme.
I have had two students sit their GCSEs recently, both achieved As and above in English and Maths.
