A level and GCSE Maths and Further Maths tutor.
I am currently a year 3 student at the University of Bristol, BSc Mathematics. I offer one to one lessons up to the A-level. I have an A* in Maths A-level and A in Further Maths, also A* GCSE Maths. I love Maths and would love to help you, I have also taught several students in the past for all levels.
I have been tutoring students for a while for both GCSE and Alevel Maths online. I have also helped many of my friends and family with their exams when I was at school and I used to go to an institute to watch maths lessons to gain more experience when I was a student. Most of my students were 14-16 years old with a few older ones.
I plan all my lessons beforehand and approximately think of how many examples and questions we will have time to go through, but I always prepare more to have extra just in case. I have many past papers printed and also online to practice with students and questions set by topic which I think is the best way to boost students' performance if they struggle in some specific areas. At the end of each lesson I set a few questions for homework for the students to go over on their free time, which we will go through on our next lesson. I try to focus more on the areas where students struggle the most and work more on those first and then gradually move from topic to topic, starting from the ones they feel the least comfortable with. At the start of each lesson I always ask my students if they want to ask something or if they have any question about last week's homework etc, in order to not leave any gaps in our progress. Furthermore, I am always open to suggestions from my students to make my teaching suit them better and to adapt to each student's needs specifically.
I have experience in tutoring with the AQA and Edexcel boards but I can always prepare for any other exams for maths. At school I used to do the Edexcel examinations and achieved an A* in both Alevel and GCSE.
Unfortunately, most of my students do not have the option for external exams this year and last year so they only have their school's examinations where most of them performed really well. Some feedback I have received from my students in the past is: "Katerina is without a doubt the most exceptional tutor i've ever had to work with over my A level years. Maths was one of the most challenging subjects i had to cope with and Katerina managed through hard work and patience to help me look at maths in a more fun and interesting way. I would highly recommend Katerina as a tutor!" "Katerina has been my tutor for the past few years, since we had been together in high school, during my GCSE and A Levels. She was an extremely helpful tutor and always helped me achieve my best, since she is very knowledgeable of the subject and makes it easier for her students to understand. She is very enthusiastic about maths and her teaching and helped me raise my grade by a lot. I couldn't recommend Katerina enough!"
