I've been tutoring a wide range of students over the last 2 years in biology, chemistry and french. I've helped GCSE and A-level students achieve their desired grades with my fun and interactive teaching! I'm extremely enthusiastic about these subjects and I really enjoy teaching them. Personally I find that being a tutor isn't just about teaching, it can be so much more than that. It gives you the opportunity to change a student's life and perhaps help them find a new found love or passion for the subject. I also have experiencing working with students who have learning disabilities (ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia).

My teaching style is unique to each individual. Each and every person is unique, no two brains are the same, we all learn in different ways and that's why I ensure that each tutorial is tailored to you and your needs. Whether your learning method is kinesthetic, auditory, visual or reading / writing, I will make sure that we use the correct one for you to make the most of the lessons. I try to make my tutorials as fun and engaging as possible as I find that teaching things in more dynamic ways helps the student gage a better understanding of the subject.

My lesson planning is centered around the individual student, their needs / wants and how they learn best. In order to gain a better understanding of their strengths and weaknesses I find that going through the specification with them and highlighting what they're struggling with most as well as doing some practice papers or questions works best. I also very much welcome any questions or suggestions from the student as they are the one experiencing the tutoring, therefore they know what works best for their brain. At the end of each tutorial I will ask the student to give me a brief summary of what we have covered and I also ask them a few questions (sometimes past paper questions) on the topic that we have studied as this enables me to understand better their level with the topic by the end of the tutorial. I'll also ask the student to tell me on a scale of 1-10 how much they understand the topic at the start of the lesson and will equally ask the same at the end of the lesson so that we can have some visual representation as to whether or not there has been an increased understanding.

I have worked with AQA, OCR and Edexcel exam boards therefore I know them quite well. Nevertheless, I'm always happy to welcome students doing other exam boards in which case I would take the time to familiarize myself with it and make sure that I know all of the ins and outs of it.
