Experienced tutor and BSc Biology graduate
I have previously tutored GCSE science and have also worked with young people and children in volunteering roles. I love sharing my scientific knowledge with others and endeavour to make it a fun and interesting experience. I can also tutor up to GCSE level in French, Chemistry, Physics, Maths and am happy to create engaging lessons for younger children to assist in their education over summer. I am available for both in person and online lessons.
I have previous experience as a GCSE science tutor, helping my student to find the topics more interesting and ensuring that she passed the exam confidently.
I ensure I read any relevant exam guidance or specification to be able to direct the lesson towards the learning objectives. I usually write out key notes on the topic and then use these notes to talk more widely about the topic to the student. Whilst teaching the topic I may ask the student questions to assess how much they already know about the topic to assist with the confidence of their knowledge. After this I usually go through relevant exam questions on the topic we have just discussed and talk through how one may answer such a question in order to obtain the marks. Closer to the time of the exam, I like to go through past papers with the mark scheme to assess the level of the students knowledge and assist them in the skills of answering challenging questions.
